Everything you need to know about studying with ForgeSkills.
How courses work
Each ForgeSkills course is completed online through your Learning Portfolio. Once enrolled, you can access the course from your portfolio and work through the content at your own pace. Course content may include written learning material, downloadable resources, videos, presentations, workplace examples, case studies, or other practical learning activities.
Formal assessment
At the end of the course content, learners complete a formal assessment made up of multiple-choice questions designed to confirm understanding of the key learning outcomes. Learners have unlimited attempts to answer each question correctly — if you select an incorrect answer, you can try again until you get it right. This approach supports learning and reinforces knowledge.
Certificates and records
Once you complete all required content and successfully answer all assessment questions, your course is marked Completed. A PDF Certificate of Completion is emailed to you and added to your Learning Portfolio, and your Professional Development Register is automatically updated with notional hours and the assessment type.
CPD and licensing
ForgeSkills supports CPD record-keeping where applicable and provides formal evidence of completed learning. Learners should confirm specific requirements with their employer, industry body, licensing authority, or professional association.
Portfolio inactivity
To keep your portfolio active, simply use it. If you do not access your portfolio for 12 months it will automatically close. We will send a reminder email at 11 months so you can download your certificates before closure, or enrol in another course to keep your account active.
